Today Frizz challenge is about «YYY»…
And I have thought about this pic I took thirteen years ago…It was in Arwad, a very small inhabitated island in Syria…
They were Young…May be happY…For sure innocent…
I wonder were they are now…
Even if they ARE at all…
Sixteen? Seventeen years old?…
I wonder what they have seen…
What they have done…
What they have lost…
The pic is a scan of a paper one…And I had written something on the back…
«But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
tread softly, because you tread on my dreams»
William Butler Yeats
Me encanto el blog Amaya…a seguir asi…un abrazo.

Hola Alberto!
Muchas gracias!!! 🙂 🙂
Kids are innocent and have dreams…
You are right Amy…Everywhere, anytime….
Sweet photo and I love the Yeats! I’d love to know the Syria story…..
Thanks a lot K!
Sad, isn’t it, to have to wonder if these children still are.
Good post!
Muchas gracias Angeline! Es lo malo de estas cosas…La gente está y luego ya no está…Y qué es lo queda??
oh so beautiful and bittersweet….
Many thanks Rose!!!
Nothing like an old photo to bring back memories.
True…That is something I miss from the time I had paper pics…I liked to write things on the back…It was easier to keep track of feelings and memories…I love finding one between the pages of a book may be I was reading on those times…
A wonderful photo and I hope all of them are happy today. I don’t want to think of the bad. Children are so innocent–too bad we don’t stay that way.
We grow…And even if we acquire new things, ideas, feelings, values…we loose a lot of things on the way…
Syria is a difficult place to grow up… – good, that you’re actually not there …
Thanks a lot Frizz…Yes, now I am here, warm and safe, …And sometimes I miss the old times…
This picture sure would bring these questions…I agree with you! Look at their innocence so precious.
Thanks a lot for thinking about that!!!
Have a wonderful week with your family!!! Enjoy a lot!!! Merry X-mas!
I still think of the kids I encountered while in the Army during the first gulf war in 1991 and then in Somalia in 93′ thats now 20+ years ago Some of the kids were really cool and I really hope they got to grow up and be kids and now adults.. Great pic and writeup..:-)
That were tough places, specially Somalia!!!
Must be very difficult to grow on a lot of places..Sometimes we do not realize how lucky we are.!!!!
Thanks a lot Ed!
The photographer has a touch of nostalgia to it…and yes…like the thought…what are they like today? Are they even alive? As inncocent as when this picture was taken? probably not…
Yes…There is always nostalgia when remembering old days…And , if alive, may be their souls have been shattered somehow…It is not easy to be innocent when everybody is fighting against everybody…
