Life´s too Short…

This week Ailsa´s challenge is “Short”…

I was thinking and thinking…

And reading and reading, looking for a clue…

And, suddently!, I saw this… (click on the image to fully enjoy it!!!)

“Is life not a thousand times too short for us to bore ourselves?”

Through the keyhole…

There they were….

Hidden from the common eye…

The old door…

The new bicycle…

The empty birdcage…

There they were…

Hidden from the common eye…

Seen only through  the keyhole…

Were they preparing their escape?

PD: Sorry I have not been so active during the last days….I went to my hometown, to pay a visit to my family…And everybody was so happy to see me that they shared everything they had with me…Including their new adquisition: multiple flu viruses!!!! So, here I am, trying to recover!!!

Family in Black&White

This week, Sonel´s Black &White Weekly Challenge is about “Family”….Family but in a wide sense…

“Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family.

Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one”.

The Old Convent of San Marcos (today a luxury Parador Hotel) is one of the most important monuments of the Renaissance in Spain…Note its wonderful Plateresque facade!!!

They were old…

They were old…

They passed me on the street,
engulfed and almost hidden among the mass of people…

They were old and small…
But they did not seem to care…

They had just enough
taking care of them both…

They were old

Just a frozen moment…

“Sometimes I feel like if you just watch things, just sit still and let the world exist in front of you – sometimes I swear that just for a second time freezes and the world pauses in its tilt. Just for a second. And if you somehow found a way to live in that second, then you would live forever.”

Letter “D”: León at Dusk

This week, Frizztext challenge is letter “D”…
I am a bit late, because the weather has been very bad, but today I went out to the capital with C. and both dogs…And we arrived to this square: “Plaza del Grano” just at Dusk

Plaza del Grano, León, Spain

Plaza del Grano, León, SpainThis is probably the oldest square in León, part of the “Camino de Santiago”, and the ground is paved with stones….

It was working as a market square for many centuries and, even, as an “arena” or “plaza de toros” in the XVII century…

The church is called “Santa María del Camino”, and it is from the XI century…

The houses with wood arcades you can see on your right are from the XVI century, while the fountain on the front is from the XVIII: it simbolizes the two rivers of León: the “Torío” and the “Bernesga”…

This square was also used as a place for execution in the old days…

If once if your life you try to follow the “Camino”, and you happen to be in León, do not forget this place..

….Especially at dusk….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections

This time the Weekly Photo Challenge  is about “Reflections”…

I liked so much the challenge I brought C. with me this morning to the city…And here is what we saw…
