Photo101: Triumph

Today I was a bit lost…Triumph….How could I show you what triumph means? Only with one photograph?

😦

So, I decided to google «Triumph»…Sometimes, reading a quote, a piece ot literature, a song´s lyrics give me a lot of clues….

🙂 Et voilà…I found it in the words of an Irish writer: Michael Scott….

«The strong survive, but the courageous triumph»

Michael Scott, «The Warlock»

"And tell me again...Why do you have a scythe?"
.
«And tell me again…Why do you have a scythe?»

The triumph of life…
Granada, Spain.

Have a great weekend!

Photo101: Edge…

Here is my edge for today´s challenge…

"Cold and dark..."

I edged away from people…

Slowly, very slow…

And edged closer to the groung…

closer, very close…

And there it was…

cold, yellow and damp

in the middle of the dark…

Photo101: Treasure

After a week off, I am here again…With a nice challenge: Treasure

I have decided to post again about something I found few days ago in Ourense, Galicia,  in the North of Spain… The Chapel of the Cristo Crucificado, probably, the most beautiful place I have been to this year,  inside of Ourense´s Cathedral…

The Chapel is from the XVI century, baroque, and the Christ has a wonderful history…He was brought to Ourense from Finisterre, where he was found floating on the Ocean´s waters, in 1342!!!!

His hair and beard are made of real hair, and change from time to time…

Please, click on the images to admire it better…

…If you happen to go to this part of the country, may be doing the Camino de Santiago, do not forget Ourense…: It is a hidden gem, and there are only 120 km between the two cities!

Have a great day!

Photo 101: Mystery…

Today´s challenge is very interesting….Are we able to create a sense of mystery with the help of  light???

I was this weekend in Ourense, a wonderful city in the North of Spain….A must of that city is its wonderful Cathedral…

We were very lucky..We had a guided visit, so we learned a lot of things….The only problem is that, sometimes, I did not have enough time to take good photographs…

But, when looking at them slowly,,,,,Sometimes a problem leads to a very interesting shoot…

Mystery

What do you think? Does it have a sense of mystery?

Good weekend!

Photo 101: Warmth

Today´s challenge has been a bit difficult..Mainly because we were told to use the Sun  to capture an image of warmth….

It has been quite rainy and cold these last days outside, but just few days ago, rain stopped, and I left the bestias with C. for some time…

I went out, not very far from our house, and I started to follow the last Sun rays (I do not know if this expression is right in English, 🙂 )…

I was really happy….I took several photos……And, after, I worked them just a little bit to create a warmer effect…

You can tell me what do you think….

"Golden cotton..."

«Golden cotton…»

Good night!!!

Photo 101: The Natural World…

Today´s challenge is really easy for me…I live in a very small village..The river and the forests are just behind our house, and I go out every day with my two «bestias»…

It has been difficult, but I have chosen some pics, trying to show the different approach I take…

Sometimes I choose just one leaf, because I like the light´s play on it…

Sometimes just a little red fruit, because it is brilliant after the rain and makes a nice contrast with the green leaves behind…

Suddenly, I can find a glorious red bush, too big to shoot…So, I have to knee on the ground and try to frame it from a different POV…

You can click on any of the images to see them much better… 🙂

In general, we have a great time…And my bestias enjoy it a lot!!!!

Hope you have a great day as well!!! I need to go out now with them!!

🙂

Photo 101: Landmark…

My sense of orientation is very very bad.-..But I can manage quite well if I am able to identify some landmarks…

This is one the first I used when I arrived to this city..It is located just in the middle of the city, so it was very handy!!!

It is called «La negrilla»…That means «Little black woman», but seems to be «el negrillo» was also a kind of tree very common in these part of the country that dissapeared some time ago…So it is a  tribute to it…
