Photo 101: Mystery…

Today´s challenge is very interesting….Are we able to create a sense of mystery with the help of  light???

I was this weekend in Ourense, a wonderful city in the North of Spain….A must of that city is its wonderful Cathedral…

We were very lucky..We had a guided visit, so we learned a lot of things….The only problem is that, sometimes, I did not have enough time to take good photographs…

But, when looking at them slowly,,,,,Sometimes a problem leads to a very interesting shoot…

Photo 101: The Natural World…

Today´s challenge is really easy for me…I live in a very small village..The river and the forests are just behind our house, and I go out every day with my two «bestias»…

It has been difficult, but I have chosen some pics, trying to show the different approach I take…

Sometimes I choose just one leaf, because I like the light´s play on it…

Sometimes just a little red fruit, because it is brilliant after the rain and makes a nice contrast with the green leaves behind…

Suddenly, I can find a glorious red bush, too big to shoot…So, I have to knee on the ground and try to frame it from a different POV…

Photo 101: Solitude

I have many many photographs where I can feel there is Solitude behind…But, today, I thought about this one I took this summer in Tarifa, Spain,…

She is just there, happy and comfy with herself, just looking at the Mediterranean…In Tarifa, just in this point, both Mediterranean and Atlantic meet…She could have chosen the Atlantic Ocean, but she sat in front of the calmer Mediterranean Sea…

Well…I must admit I had to look at the definition of this word!!!! But now that I know its meaning, I can not think about anything else…

«Las bestias»….Those are my two Border Collies, a bunch of energy anytime and with any weather…Even if I feel blue…I can not help to smile when I look at them…

Photo101: Water…

By chance we went last weekend to Santander, a beautiful city in the North of Spain…The window of our hotel had a view of the sea, so… Imagine!!!

I promised to C. I would wake up very early in the morning to take pictures of the dawn…

Well…You know….Words, words words….

The question is that, by the time we had to leave the hotel to attend a meeting, the day was gorgeous, with a bright sunshine….Too bright to take a good picture of the bay, in fact…

So, what I did?.I closed the diaphragm and raised the speed….And this is what I got!

Photo101: Street…

I love this Street.. When I am in this town I go there every day, more or less at the same time, and shoot several times, trying to play with shadows and lights…

 

Photo101: Home

Well!!! November started three days ago and brought with it the cold weather and the rain…And also a new commitment: I am going to take part of Photography101…One pic everyday…!!!

This first day we need to show in a photo what is «Home» for us…

A place? A state of mind? A building? A person? May be a memory?..

Difficult to choose…

Is it always the same? Is it something that changes with one´s experiences??

I think the base of the feeling is always the same….At least to be, Home means being anywhere with my loved ones:   My man and my two dogs…:) 🙂

If I could choose,….Well, if I could choose I would change the cold weather for a nice and sunny place by the Mediterranean coast…But may be that will not be Home but the Paradise!!! 🙂 🙂
