I would like to say thank you to all of you who liked yesterday´s post! And, for once, I am going to post here the original version of the same pic…
I think it is very powerful in colour…May be because it is monochrome, as one of my friends says…And to me, it is very difficult to choose between them!!!
What do you think? Do you like it? Do you prefer the black and white version?
.
.
I think the original version is fantastic. For some reason the colour gives it more a sense of ‘doing’ than the b & w version. The tiny triangle of blue-green sea against the yellow is especially striking.
Thanks a lot Tish!!! I think you are right..It more dramatic in this case…
Thanks for commenting!!! 🙂 🙂
I agree, very powerful in colour!
Thanks a lot Amy…Yes…I think even the hand´s movement, the flexion of the tendons is more evident in the original versión…
Thanks a lot for your comment! 🙂 🙂
The black and white one is romantic. The color is visceral – you can almost feel him working intently.!! I can’t decide…I like them both.!
I like very much your explanation!!!! Thanks a lot Rose: I think you got the key!!!!
🙂 🙂
😀
As you might guess, I am partial to Black & White. 🙂 In this case the dominant color carries the image very well. The Black & White image conveys the grittiness of work. Both are powerful! And we don’t have to choose one over the other…you have posted both! Thank you.
Thanks to you Mic!!! Every answer gives a new clue…Every person sees something, feels something…It is true…Black and White version leads us to the old times, when every job was hard and difficult…Because fishermen suffer a lot, even in our days…
I am very happy for your contribution!!! 🙂 🙂
The colour captures and distills the smells and grubbiness of the job, and the exertion involved – the black and white is a much more clinical interpretation – or romanticised, if you will! 🙂
You are right, M! May be because of the contrast with the yellow!!…It is a tough work!!!! 🙂 But it also has a halo of romance and beauty!!! So may be, as Mic said, both are complementary and needed! 🙂
Both photos are terrific. I think the B&W has the kind of iconic power that endures. The colour photo is powerful and has a sense of immediacy but the B&W shot has timeless quality. Brilliant work.
I am very glad you have seen it in that way!!! I think I should expose both at the same time…..
Hugs from Spain Suzanne!!! 🙂
The dominance of the yellow works very well here. Both are nice (I’m sitting on the fence). 🙂
Thanks a lot LD! Yes…May be it would not work so well with more colours….Being only one, and being that color the one that, unconsciously, at least me, we associated to the fishermen, it Works well…The working hand and the net are emphasized by the yellow…
Thanks a lot for your participation! 🙂
Absolutely stunning in colour as well Illargia and I can’t decide. Both of them looks great! 😀
Thanks a lot Sonel!!!! I had also my doubts…But after reading all the wonderful comments of our friends….Both are necessary!!! Each versión highlights a different aspect, both bring something different…
Hugs from sunny Mediterranean Sea!
I totally agree with you Ilargia. Thanks for the hugs. 😀
♥ Hugs ♥
Sin Duda Una Mano Curtida… Me Encanta El B&W, Pero En Este Caso El Color Amarillo Le Da Un Toque Especial… En Cualquier Caso Ambas Son Preciosas… Un Saludo.
Muchísimas gracias….Al final, ha resultado una elección bastante difícil…Creo que nos hemos quedado con las dos!!! 🙂 Muchas gracias por participar!!!! 🙂 🙂
Wonderful photo. I refuse to choose sides 🙂
🙂 Thanks a lot Cardinal!
